SCOTT FLEMING ART

Biography
Watercolor artist Scott Fleming was born in New Orleans and lives in Mandeville on the northshore of Lake Pontchartrain.
Scott is an enthusiastic outdoorsman, his art reflecting his love of nature. He has thru-hiked the entire 2,175 miles of the Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia, in addition to hiking several other long-distance trails throughout the United States. An admirer of Henry David Thoreau with his emphasis on simplicity, Scott annually travels with his father and nephew to the Boston area, celebrating the beauty of nature by swimming across Walden Pond, always beginning at Thoreau's Cove.
Scott likes to think of himself as a Robinson Crusoe or a Walter Anderson when he explores and camps in solitude for days on the beaches of Horn Island off the coast of Mississippi. He receives much of his inspiration for his art during these trips and during his sails with his father on the Miss Bay on Lake Pontchartrain.
Usually focusing on a singular subject in his art, Scott strives to highlight the beauty and simplicity of nature and life with vivid color and distinctive lines.
